Howard Zin

Howard Zinn likes to tell the story from the view of the underdogs. He first tells the story from the perspective of the Arawak Indians who first met Columbus. Throughout the chapter Columbus is brought up to be a mean, not very nice man. He massacred almost half the population on Haiti. When you think of Columbus you think you, "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue." Not he killed almost all the natives, and just used them to get to gold. Instead of showing the stories of the heros,  Zinn describes what it was like for m the victims.
