Manifest Destiny, Painting Paragraph

In this painting, there is an angel floating above a country side. She is known as "America." She is said to bring light over dark areas. You can see behind her there is settlers,  railways, and telephone poles. In front there is animals and indians in the darkness. The manifest destiny was a concept, that said that they believed white americans had a god-given right to occupy the entire North American continent. This started the westward expansion.
